Haibo is a faculty member at the Medical School of Nanjing University (joined Feb. 2025). He took his undergraduate and master’s training in mechanical engineering and manufacturing, and obtained his Ph.D. in computational biological physics. His research develops and applies multiscale, multiphysics models of the heart to uncover disease mechanisms and improve therapeutics — aiming to bring the impact modeling has had in engineering to medicine. Prior to joining Nanjing University, he was an Assistant Project Scientist in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of California, Davis. He received a postdoctoral fellowship from the American Heart Association, serves as a guest Associate Editor for Frontiers in Physiology, and regularly reviews for more than ten international journals in cardiovascular research and computational biology.
