I am an Associate Professor at the Medical School of Nanjing University, China. We work on digital hearts as part of the Engineering Medicine Research Group. I took my undergraduate and master’s training in mechanical engineering and manufacturing, and obtained my Ph.D. in computational biological physics. My research develops and applies multiscale, multiphysics models of the heart to uncover disease mechanisms and improve therapeutics — aiming to bring to medicine the level of predictive impact computational modeling has long had in engineering.
Prior to joining Nanjing University in February 2025, I was an Assistant Project Scientist in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of California, Davis. I am a recipient of the Career Development Award and Postdoctoral Fellowship from the American Heart Association (AHA). I serve as a guest Associate Editor for Frontiers in Physiology, regularly review manuscripts for ~20 international journals on cardiovascular research and computational biology, and have served as a grant reviewer for the American Heart Association Fellowship programs.
